The drill is partic. of turret type, with a number of tool spindles sliding axially in an indexing drum and a main spindle rotating these spindles and feeding them forward. The main spindle is mounted in a drill head with hydraulic feed, and the drum is rotated to bring the tool spindles one by one into line with the main one, when the feed movement of the head couples them together. The hydraulic head feed has a supply pump and a ram (8), and there is a further supply system for the ram when tapping threads (65). This is controlled both by the rotational speed, by a component (76) driven by the main spindle (11), and also by a setting device varying the quantity of fluid supplied per unit of time.
