Parent patent discloses prepn. of a radiation-hardenable unsatd. polyester binder from (A) polyhydric alcohol, (B) plain alpha,beta-olefinically unsatd. dicarboxylic acid and/or a polycarboxylic acid, free from polymerisable aliphatic multiple bonds and (C). acrylic cpd. which can be condensed in (A) and (B) are reached with (D), a norbornane deriv. contg. =1 functionally identical COOH, IH or amino gp. The prod. is then reacted with (C). In this Patent of Addn. a hydroxy-1-3C alkyl-acrylate or -methacrylate is used as (C). The binders are pref. used in printing ink compsns. esp for solvent-free printing inks, or when admixed with fillers they can be used as mastics. They have high storage-stability, e.g. can be stored 6 months without gelling, thickening and changes in viscosity. Hardening rate can be 400 m/min. on irradiation with UV light.
