A universal transistorized ignition system for an IC engine which can also be used as an electronic speed measuring circuit and a speed limiter. The circuit consists only of three transistors, and four resistors, a contactor and a protective gas contact, as well as providing induction control. The battery current flows via the ignition coil (Z) to the power transistor (3) to produce a pulse in both preliminary transistors (T1, T2). The switching pulse is then connected to earth. The switching pulse is amplified to the extent that only less than 0.0001 Watt is reured for the control. The system can be designed as an integrated circuit.
