The armature is to have its plastic coating made as a closed, thin layer of fluorocarbon resin e.g. PTFE, burned on, and covering at least that part of te armature that enters the coil. The armature is pref. recessed to receive the coating, which is pref. applied at 90 degrees C, after which the armature is rotated slowly while the coating is dried at 120 degrees C; finally, the coating is burned on at 360 degrees C. This increases the working life of the electro-magnet.
