The aircraft with protection against icing has not only the leading edge portion of the wings, control surfaces, propellers and undercarriage coated with a layer of plastic with no, or low surface adhesiveness but also carburettor internal surfaces in zones prone to icing. Pref. the plastic should be PTFE, or PTFE based. The layer may be a coating on plastic foil, possibly of a different composition; the treatment may be applied to aircraft in service as well as under construction. It is applicable also to rotary wing aircraft.
