Flexible fibre endoscope for heart and blood vessels - with slidable grippers closing to form cage and additional fibre providing laser light

Fibre endoscope for heart and blood vessels comprises a flexible optical shaft, with grippers which are slidable in the field of vision and which can close to from a cage-like structure. The grippers are mounted in a channel allowing flushing and outflow. Beside the optical glass fibre section is a glass fibre supply pipe for laser energy which is emitted in regulatable pulses, pref. in the centre of the optical fibre. The grippers can be retracted into the flushing channel, and loose contends can be flushed out. The flushing channel encompasses the optical fibre in an annular slot for excess pressure displacement of blood to flush the fibre clear.
