The forage wagon has an unloading device with an endless conveyor belt. A displaceable head support floor has a stepping motor drive, the step size being controlled by a switching element. A coupling for the unloading conveyor drive is operated either before or after the switching element depending on whether the unloader is being started or stopped. This is achieved using a setting lever connected to the switching element and coupling by a linkage or wire cable. The setting lever may be engaged in three positions.
