The multiple position switch mechanism has individual switch position selection buttons suitable for radio receiver channel selection mechanisms. The switch ensures good contact between selected terminals requiring no highly accurately machined parts. The switch has a three position selector operated by three knobs (24) on three spring (26) locked operating levers (16, 18, 20) such that a contactor (46) connects two pairs of three terminals (48, 50, 52) according to which button is pressed. The contactor (46) which is itself spring (44) loaded, is moved by a shaped plate element mounted in simple slideways (12) in a chassis plate (14) at right angles to the knob movement. This is achieved by oblique edges (28, 30, 32) with which the knob levers (16, 18, 20) make contact when they are depressed.
