摘要
Artificial bones for dogs are made by grinding waste parts of hides and skins and by mixing the meal with a bonding agent. The mixt. of meal and bonding agent is then filled into a mould in the shape of abone. Pref. the hides or parts of them are first dried, broken to pieces of 1-2 cm. and ground to a particle size of 50-500 mu (120 mu). The meal is mixed with a bonding agent such as gelatin (from bones) soya bean germs or linseed, in wt. ratio of 50:50. The mixt. is cast into moulds or pressed with a force of 20 tonnes to the shape of a bone. This is a much more economical way than using strips of whole buffalo hide which have to be cut, soaked, preformed and pressed in a mould. The new method can be completely automated.
