The automatic line for cross cutting of coiled strips comprises guillotine shears which are pivoted in the horizontal plane and intended to cut plates off a strip; non-pivoted guillotine shears cut off sharp angles of the plates, and are mounted on a slider which is movable along the automatic line's axis in order to fix the non-pivoted shears at a desired distance from the pivoted shears in order to simultaneously cut off sharp angles and cut out plates. A strip feeding mechanism has one pair of rollers driven by a step electrohydraulic drive through a reduction gear which feeds the strip, as well accelerates, brakes and, if necessary, reverses the strip's motion to ensure a prescribed platee length.
