Gas appliance ignition control - has main servo-valve actuator rod to improve reliability

The ignition control of a gas appliance operating with a main and a pilot burner has chamber (12) connected to chamber (14) by channel (13). The flow through the latter is controlled by the main valve (15) and auxiliary valve (16) with intervening gas line (17) leading to the pilot burner (18). The poppet (20) of the main burner is connected to armature of solenoid (22) whose circuit includes the contacts of the thermocouple (23). The poppet (28) of the auxiliary valve is sliding on the actuating rod (29) under a pressure of spring (30) while the rod is moved towards the main valve by pusher (50) mounted on shaft (51) of the servo (52). The circuit of the latter includes the igniter (54), and the main switch has a contact connected to the timer controlling the servo.
