The fuel supply system consists of an electrically operated lift pump which is switched on when the engine lubricating oil pressure reaches a predetermined min. value. The pump is switched off again when the min. value is not maintained. The fuel pump motor (1) is connected via a relay switch (4) to the ignition circuit (15). The motor is also connected via two blocking diodes (5,6) to the started motor circuit (50). The relay is connected on one side to the ignition circuit, and to an engine oil pressure dependent switch (8) on the second side. A condenser (10) is connected parallel to the pump motor via the diode (6) in the starter motor circuit. The condenser is charged during the starter process and discharges itself at the end of the starter process via the pump motor.
