The concrete girder has a top surface (3) just below which is a mesh reinforcement (4), for supporting sheets fixed to the girder, such as cladding, roofing and profiled sheet metal. The reinforcement can be placed in the concrete on the top of the girder in its still molten state. The own weight of the reinforcement (4) causes it to sink from the surface to the inside of the concrete girder (1) by a specified amount, e.g. between 2 and 15 mm. The upper surface of the girder is homogeneous after the reinforcement has dropped inside. Tie bolts are inserted into cavities (2a) in the roofing plate and into the concrete girder (1).
