The mfg. process for an effect yarn uses a semi-worsted yarn formed from a long stapel carrier with short staple carded yarn of different colours, spun together to give a shimmering effect. The shot fibre sliver produced from the woollen card is mixed in the required proportion with the long staple slivers. This is fed into the section where the needle zone draws and tear the short fibre sliver so that the flame colours are distributed at random in the semi-worsted sliver passed to the spinning machine. Used for producing effect yarns for carpetings. The process delivers a flame effect yarn which gives the required colouring effects without incurring additional mfg. time or machine costs.
