The swinging ramp has one end pivotably attached to a stationary ramp and its other raised or lowered for positioning on a vehicle. The ramp has a weight equalising device consisting of one or more gas springs. Each gas spring (1) is pivotably attached with one end to a stationary part of the stationary ramp (3) and with its other end pivotably attached to a lever (4). The bottom end of the lever (4) is pivotably attached to the stationary ramp and its top end is displacable at right angles to a pivoting axis (5) along pivoting part (6) of the swinging ramp. The pivoting point (7) of the lever (4) and the stationary part (2) is positioned between the pivoting axis (5) of the pivoting part (6) and the pivoting point (8) of the gas spring (1) and the stationary part.
