The photocopier for producing offset masters has a supply reel (8) of sensitive paper which is drawn up onto a vertical suction plate (10) where it is held, charged and subjected to the image. The paper is then wound round a transfer roller on which it is developed by a developing roller (17) moving with the transfer roller, while the copy is laid flat onto the offset plate (18). The sheet is only bent once and then laid flat. The layer of toner is kept as even as possible so that high contrast offset masters are obtained.
