Padded panel against which ear, nose and throat patient leans - having his chin or cheek on fixed rest, ready for medical examination

A rest is provided for the patient's head, in a position convenient for the doctor's examination. The patient leans slightly forward against a - preferably upholstered - panel which has a chin/cheek rest at the top edge. He mounts in adjustable foot rest - pref. with the aid of hand holds - which allows him to assume the required position comfortably. The doctor sits on a raised chair on the other side of the panel, which is pref. fitted with a writing desk and an instrument rack for his use. The panel pref. has push buttons on one side, to control a hydraulic system with which it can be moved towards or away from the doctor, and tilted to any angle between the vertical and the horizontal.
