The work position framework has a vertically adjustable and inclinable foot support which is located at both sides in vertical guides. Toothed wheels (13) are attached at either end of the support and engage in toothed rods. A spring tends to pull the suport vertically upwards. The toothed wheels are attached to a common shaft (12) mounted under the support. The shaft itself is acted upon by a torsion spring. The wheels can be locked by a lock pawl (22) which is held in the locked position by spring force (19a). The lock pawl can be released using a Bowden cable.
