The coat cutting machine with its cutting drum (3) mounted on a swinging arm extending from the machine. The support arrangement for the drum signals includes two set of rollers (21, 22) each sloping at an angle to the central axis of the drum. One set (21) uses taper rollers and the other set (22) uses parallel sided cylindrical rollers, with a triangular outer race (28) between them. Both sets are retainer between interlocking rings (8, 14) the inner ring (14) having an extension forming the piston (13) of a hydraulic device controlling its axial travel inside a sleeve (12) on a segment around it. These rings are mounted on an inner sleeve (16) forming part of a reduction gear for the drive. The inner race is formed by a hollow shaft (27) inside the two interlocking rings.
