Inert gas fire fighting installation warning device - uses gas supply line fitted element producing acoustic warming signal

The acoustic warning signal is for use on fire fighting installations operating with inert gas, such as carbon dioxide. The device is meant as a repeater element for signal devices triggered off electrically by smoke detectors. Room (1) is fitted wit a carbon dioxide fire fighting installation consisting of a battery of gas cylinders (4) shut off by valve (5) and connected with outlet nozzles in the room by pipe line (6). The installation is also fitted with an acoustic signal instrument (10) triggered off by impulse from the smoke detectors (7). In addition several gas outlets are fitted (11) with a whistle or sirene producing acoustic warning signal by the escaping gas. Between the cylinders (4) and the supply pipe (6) an air container (12) is inserted, so that when the alarm starts, it is air at first coming out of the outlets producing the acoustic signal, but giving adequate time to persons to leave the room before carbon dioxides gas begins to flow from the outlets.
