Enclosed rooms are disinfected with formalin by evaporating it in an aq. soln. and adding the vapour to the atmos. in the room. After a certain duration of the action the atmos. is made free from formalin by filtering a part of it and by removing the not filtered part from the room. This reduces the total time during which the room is out of action to a min. Deposits and oxidns. are entirely eliminated.
