Support bar for suspended file for maps, documents etc. - has U=section plastics moulding which grips file by means of internal projections

The individual files(1) of a suspended filing system have a flat surface(2) at the back of the file provided with a number of holes (3). The support bar (4) is moulded from plastic in a U section with arms (5, 6), with the arm (6) having an extension (8). The bar (4) has a number of internal projections (9) which match the holes (3) in the file (1). The back (2) of the file (3) is fitted into the U section (4) with the projections (9) passing through the holes (3). Heat is applied to the projections so that they are spot welded to the opposite arm (6) of the U section (4). The extension (8) of the arm (6) is then folded upwards to form a rail for the index tab (11).
