Smoke detector for false ceiling cavities - consists of detector transducer connected to warning LED and lens mounted in double layer trap door

A specialized smoke detector for use in the cavities between false and true ceilings, operates a fire warning light immediately below it on the false ceiling. It is easily accessible through a trap door in the false ceiling. The fire or smoke detector transducer (3) is mounted directly on the true ceiling (1) so that it protrudes into the space above the false ceiling (4). A wire cable takes an alarm signal to a 1.e.d. and lens mounted in a double layer trap door (12, 13) which is, in turn, mounted in the false ceiling immediately below the transducer (3). Access to the transducer is easily gained through the trap door by an extraction tool.
