Open fireplace with fume extractions hood - has double wall hood and fume channel for improving draught

The open fireplace has double wall extraction hood. The inner wall of hood is connected to chimney stack. The extraction hood and fume extraction channel connections are designed to ensure initial draught so that fumes are extracted efficiently while the fire is started. The fume extraction channel, acting as extension of chimney stack, has also double walls. The double walled section of fume extraction channel is extended also to the fireplace in the house. The enclosing hood (5) can be made from decorative copper sheet. This hood and inner wall (6) are connected intermittently by connection webs (7). The insulation provided by double wall arrangement, prevents excessive cooling of fumes and this improves efficiency of draught.
