Electric pulse counter with bistable stages - resets counter to initial reading when complementary reading is reached by use of chain of electronic stages

The counter has a counting chain consisting of bistable electronic stages controlled by pulses applied to the counting input. When a pulse is applied to the counting input, at least the first switching stage changes its state, thus changing the counter reading by one binary unit. Each second change of each stage causes a change in at least one following stage, or a corresp. resetting of states of the stages resets the counting chain to a certain initial state (A). Starting from an individual counter reading (A) and a complementary reading (B), when a number (C) differing from (B) by at least one binary unit is reached, the counter is automatically set to the reading (B) and also the counter is prepared to be reset to the state (A) by a following pulse.
