The mobile rocking chair for children or infirm adults has retractable rollers operated e.g. by hand via a lever system. The unit is made from light plastic with a variety of available seats for the occupant who can also be protected by a hood. A trailing thrust stay is provided by means of which the unit can be thrust forward during the rocking motion. In all designs, luggage space is provided.
