The cut off tap has a rotatable segment thruster in a housing, which locates on a cylindrical inner wall of the housing. The thruster is radially movable and connected to a change shaft, sealed, emerging from the housing. According to its radial position, the thruster cuts off outwardly by radial loading two radially deviating connections of the pipe union. Inside the change shaft (7), is an elastic plastic or rubber body (15) on which the segment thruster (6, 17), radially engages directly or indirectly on to the change shaft (7), supports, and the change shaft space (22, 20) for receiving the elastic body (15) is variable in its accommodating capacity.
