The automatically engaging and returning securing device for a roller shutter, preventing raising from outside, comprises swivelling locking members at the ends of one slat, and a control member on the next slat. The locking member lies across the blind plane when locked, with serration acting in conjunction with a flange on a U-sectioned guide rail. The locking member (8, 8a) is a clamping plate with lengthways recess (15) engaged by a rigid lug (10) which forms the control member. The recess incorporates a control curve (16), effecting outward and inward movement of the lug according the mutual setting of the slats (1, 2). The locking member lies across the plane when the shutter is closed, and reverts to a setting parallel to the shutter plane when it is raised.
