Pusher centrifuge with annular cake removing pusher plate zone - dished at the central part of its cake pushing surface

A pusher centrifuge has its pusher plate provided with an annular, peripheral pusher portion having an outer radius ra and an inner radius ri equal to ra-S, where S is the natural depth of the filter cake. The annular portion is characterised in that the central part of the surface facing the cake is dished. The dished annular pusher portion carries part of the cake during forward movement of the pusher plate and the throughput of the suspension to be filtered is increased.
