The pump has three double acting pistons (5) each reciprocating in its own cylinder (2, 3, 4). Liquid is drawn into one side (2a) of the first cylinder and is discharged from one side (4b) of the last cylinder. One side of each cylinder (2a, 3a, 4a) is connected by a passage containing a non-return valve (10) to the other side (2b, 3b, 4b) of the same cylinder. This second side is connected by a unobstructed passage witht he first side of the succeeding cylinder. The three pistons are driven by cams (14) from a common shaft (7) set so that there is always one piston in the centre part of its stroke. with this arrangement the final discharge is free of all pulsation.
