Indole-3-carboxaldehyde oxime derivs. are of formula (I) and their physiologically tolerable salts are new. In the formula, R1 is halogen, CR5 (R5 is 1-6C alkyl, heteroaryl, phenyl or phenyl substd. by 1-4C alkyl, carboxy (1-4C alkyl), (1-4C alkoxycarbonyl)-(1-4C alkyl), 1-4C alkoxy, methylenedioxy, 1-5C alkoxycarbonyl, halogen, OH, NO2, 1-3C dialkylamino or CF3), SR6 (R6 is 1-6C alkyl, heteroaryl, phenyl or phenyl substd. as in R5) NR7R8 (R7 and R8 are 1-6C alkyl or NR7R8 is a 5-8 membered ring in which one of the C-atoms can be replaced by O, S or N, the latter opt. being substd. by 1-4C alkyl opt. in turn substd. by OH, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C dialkylamino, ethylenedioxy, trimethylenedioxy, phenyl or phenyl substd. as for R5), 3-6C alkenylcarbonyl, 3-6C alkynyloxycarbonyl, 1-4C alkoxycarbonyl, 1-4C alkoxycarbonyl substd. by OH or 1-4C alkoxy, phenyl, phenyl substd. as for R5, -COR9 (R9 is H, phenyl, heteroaryl or phenyl substd. as for R9), 2-4C alkenyl or 2-4C alkynyl. R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl, -COR10 (R10 is 1-6C alkyl) or phenyl opt. substd. as for R5; R3 is H, 1-5C alkyl, 1-5C alkoxy, OH, Cl, Br, F, NO2, amino or benzyloxy; R4 is H, opt. unsatd. 1-6C aliphatic hydrocarbyl, benzyl or phenyl opt. substd. as for R5; and m = 1,2 or 3. (I) have e.g. analgesic, anti-inflammatory, hypoglycaemic and cardiovascular activity. (I) are esp. useful as hypouricaemic agents with both uric and uricostatic properties, linked in some cases with diuretic activity, they are therefore suitable for the treatment of hyperuricaemia (I) are also useful as intermediates.
