Swimming-bath water having drinking water quality - achieved by incorporating an active carbon filter in purification cycle

Swimming-bath water having drinking water quality is produced by connecting an active C filter in the cycle between the quartz gravel filter and the Cl2 proportioning plant, in a conventional swimming bath purification cycle comprising discharged, pptn. and flocculation with metal salts, filtration, chlorination and supply. Organic Cl intermediates, which cause an unpleasant odour, eye- and mucous membrane irritation and inflammation, are adsorbed on the active C filter and degraded. The water leaving the active C filter is free from chlorinated organic cpds. K permanganate consumption is reduced to value of filling water. NH3 and proteid ammonia are not formed.
