Continuous automated prodn. of green fodder - using seeds which are conveyed through pre-germination and growth zones and fed with air and water

Continuous, automated production of green fodder from grass or maize seed when the hydro-culture (soil-less plant production) is used. The seed is brought to an input point on a discontinuously moved, controlled conveyor, such as a conveyor belt. In a pre-germination zone, it is exposed to a spray mist of water and air or pure oxygen. After moving through the pre-germination zone, the growing grass mat is supplied with water and air or pure oxygen, and synthetically illuminated for a few days in a growth zone. The finished grass mat is removed at the end of the conveyor. The germination - and growth zones have an air humidity of 90-100% and a temp. between 25 deg. and 40 deg.
