Aircraft landing wheels pre-rotator - has aerodynamic projections sliding in radial wheel channels and biassed by springs

The device for pre-rotating aircraft landing wheels comprises two or more aerodynamic projections (2) carried radially, movably in channels formed in wheel spokes. The obstructions slide on guide rails (3) in the channel sides. The guide rails slope relative to spoke thickness so that the obstructions are progressively withdrawn into the spokes as they move outwards. The centrifugal force causing this movement is opposed by a spring (4) so that it is arrested when the wheels are turning at the right speed.
