High velocity burner for fluidised fuels - has flame holder as part of furnace front plate and annular slots for secondary air

The high flow velocity burner for liquid or fluidised fuels as in the main patent, has two concentric tubes. One (4) is for the heavy fuel plus primary/atomising air, the other (8) for gaseous fuel. Both discharge into an expansion chamber (10), substantially cylindrical, with tangential slots (18) for additional swirled primary air. This comes from an air chamber (14) which also supplies secondary/stabilising air through an annular gap between chamber back/furnace front plate (31) and a flame holder (17) at the expansion chamber outlet. The diameter of this flame holder is now less than the outside diameter of the gap (32) being pref. created by cutting annular slots in the plate, leaving supporting webs.
