The device serves for supporting formwork used in construction of a T-beam ceiling made up from prefabricated component beams and erected with site concrete, esp., in skeleton frame building. The square timber, for holding the formwork, is supported on a tube rotatably and height-adjustably held inside a support tube. A cross strut (20) is fitted in the skeleton frame on the support tube (13), running off at right angles and insertable in a hole (21) in the beam (2), for direct conveyance of loading into the skeleton frame. The strut may be a tube welded to the support tube, and can have an external thread working in conjunction with an internal thread in the hole.
