Form printing on continuous paper web - takes place while form is withdrawn line by line by pulling action actuated by feed chain drive

The machine is for printing on forms esp. on continuous edge-perforated web and has a feed chain (5) which moves the leading form into a printing station (1, 2) having a matrix printing head. The first line to be printed is nearest the trailing end of the form and printing takes place while the chain withdraws the web line by line. On completion of printing the chain forwards the form again until the trailing end registers with a guillotine where the form is severed from the stock and ejected. The devices enables the form to be pulled, rather than pushed, during printing.
