Support panel construction for loudspeaker - has damping joint connecting it to front frame of box to prevent box vibrating

The support panel construction is for a loudspeaker system. It has a damping joint which connects it to the frame at the front of the loudspeaker box. The damping joint prevents sound waves from propagating from the panel to the rest of the box via the material of the box and thereby avoids the formation of resonance nodes. At high power the resonance nodes can cause the vibrations of teh box to colour the sound being reproduced. Suppression of the nodes enhances the quality of sound reproduction.
