Publicity or decorative display device - creating illusion of shapes moving across projected image, uses patterned projecting roller and flat glass or plastics screen

Illusion of natural movements in decorative and/or publicity displays is achieved using an image-projecting roller which is slowly rotated by an electric motor; the roller being installed behind the publicity picture or advertisement being projected. The roller carries patterns or figures obtd. by e.g. cutting out or etching away parts of metal foil previously applied to it, and as the roller revolves slowly, the images of the remaining metal areas are projected, together with the (static) picture of advertisement onto a flat or reliefed surface, thus creating the illusion of shapes moving across the picture. The device used incorporates 1 or 2 glass or plastics e.g. PMMA, plates.
