In the optical system the working diaphragm of the objective is positioned between air gaps and between other air gaps there is a fixed baffle for stray light. This objective has a high contrast power and a high resolving capacity over the entire imaging range. It also has a wide useful angle. Long radii of the optical components and the use of plane cementing faces make it simple to make the glass parts. The direct edge support of the lens faces facilitates mechanical holding of the objective.
