Pamphlet or newspaper production unit has several feed stations (2) arranged along a converyer to collect the printed sheets for the publications. The sheets are fed to a binder (3), through a cutting machine (4) to further feed stations (5) and thence to the addressing unit (7). Here the address details as obtained from a central data bank and printed directly on the publication by an ink jet printer following which the wrapper is applied. The printer typically has a piezoelectric crystal connected to a high frequency generator. The charged ink particles are guided onto the publications by charged deflection plates.
