The root crop topper now disc drums which rotate above its blacks to propel the leaves rearwardly. The leaves are received by vertical rotors which deliver them to an elevator at one side of the machine. Each rotor has spiral blades, the inner rotor delivering its leaves to the outer rotor fox transfer to the elevator. Each vertical rotor may have an end plate at the top.
