Socket outlet consists of a cover and a base, with a number of holes for contact pins of a plug with at least two pins. The shock protection device consists of one single covering element between the cover and base, with corresponding holes, each limited by an oblique surface. In the closed position the oblique surfaces cover the corresponding holes in the cover and base. The covering element is spring loaded towards the cover and in a sliding direction towards a position in which it is locked by projections engaging stops on the cover. The covering element is released only when simultaneously pressed down through two ore more holes. The covering element is connected at a point between its two ends to a transversal bar-shaped spring. Its ends are so mounted, that it is tensioned and presses on the covering element towards the cover and in the direction of its closed position.
