In order to support a tree in a roof garden, use is made of a bell-shaped cage with an upper opening (1). The cage has horizontal struts (2) and outer-casing struts (5) which are bent in the form of a bell or arranged in the manner of a pyramid. After introducing the tree roots into the cage through the upper opening (1) of the latter and placing said cage on its standing surface (4), the cage and tree roots are filled with, and surrounded by, earth. The tree is thus supported against strong winds by a dimensionally stable three-dimensional structure (2, 5, 4) being stably attached, by means of the earth, to the roots of the tree. IMAGE
