Moving fabric alignment - uses rollers to compensate for effect of tension measurement before a pattern is printed

In aligning a fabric web, partic. before it enters a printing machine, a constant tension is applied to the fabric so that the edges are correctly positioned. The tension is maintained so that the drawn tension on the fabric can be measured in its direction of movement, while independently driven rollers lying next to each other are used to eliminate any distortion incurred through the measurement process. The system ensures that the fabric maintains its alignment when it leaves a tension zone so that, on entering the printing zone, the pattern is correctly applied and that there is no fabric distortion which would affect the appearance of the printing.
