Liq. aq. dishwashing compsn. for e.g. removing tea and coffee stains - contain potassium hydroxide, an alkali metal tri:poly-phosphate and a sequestering agent

Liq. aq. copolymer-free dishwashing agents are made contg. 5-25 wt. % KOH, 5-30 wt. % of alkali metal tripolyphosphate and 0.5-10 wt. % of a sequestering agent consisting of an aminopolycarboxylic acid an opt. substd. aminophosphonic acid or an alkanepolyphosphonic acid or their alkalie metal salts. Pref. compsns. contain 10-20 wt. % K tripolyphosphate and 1-7 wt. % EDTA or ethane-1-hydroxy-1,1-diphosphonic acid (I). The compsns. may also contain surfactants, corrosion inhibitors, dyes, hydrotropic agents, etc. The compsns. can be used in hard or soft waters and give good removal of tea and coffee stains although they contain no chlorine bleaches or copolymer additives.
