Energy producing eutectic mixtures - which increase safety of ammonium nitrate explosives

An energy-producing eutectic mixt. liq. below +10 degrees (below-10 degrees)C based on oxygen-liberating salts and combustible cpds, is used as an additive to (A) explosives based on NH4NO3 and combustible metallic materials, free from water-insol brisant explosive substances, or to (B) explosives contg water-insol brisant substances. The oxygen-liberating salts may be alkali(ne earth) metal or ammonium nitrates. The combustible cpds may be ammonium salts or derivs and/or amides and/or anhydrous NaNO3 and/or alkylamine nitrates. The explosives have increased handling safety and energy.
