The dimensions of the ferromagnetic element and its distance from and position w.r.t. the transducer and magnetic source are such, that the magnetic field acting on the transducer is amplified, and homogenised in the space around it; the magnetic source and the transducer are on the same side, or on opposite sides of the ferromagnetic element which is at least approx. cylindrical and at least twixe as long as its dia.; the distance between the ferromagnetic element and transducer is approx. one fifth of the element dia.; the magnetic source is movable w.r.t. the above element and transducer.
