Dual purpose detergent softening compsn. - contg. a mixture of anionic, non-ionic, cationic surfactants with a phosphate detergent

The compsn. contains 5-20% synthetic anionic surfactants (I); 1-10% (pref. 2-7%) non-ionic surface active agents, (II); 2-10% cationic quaternary ammonium cpds as textile softener (III), and 10-45% of water soluble mineral phosphate detergent (IV). (I) is an alkyl benzene sulphonate, (II) is a higher aliphatic ethoxy alcohol, (III) is dimethyl distearyl ammonium chloride, (IV) is sodium tripolyphosphate. The compsn. simultaneously cleans and softens textiles without increase in foaming. The addn. of non-ionic surfactants increases mutual solubility in cationic and anionic agents and prevents cloudiness.
