Reticulo-endothelial stimulating compsn. - contg. sodium oleate, sodium stearate and neutralised olive oil

A compsn. for stimulating the reticulo-endothelial system contains 15-25 g Sodium oleate, 5-15 g. sodium stearate and 100 g. neutralised olive oil, pref. as an emulsion for parenteral administration with sufficient water to give a total 1000 g. of emulsion. Unit dosage is 1-5 ml of emulsion. The compsn. increases pulmonary ventilation in guinea pigs without the hypertensive effect obtained with aminophylline, and inhibits bronchial spasms induced by histamine or acetylcholine, the activity being similar to that of aminophylline but of longer duration.
